Type: New Plastisol Cabin
A site visit was conducted to assess the organisation’s requirements and the proposed location. Once the building size and layout were determined, the organisation successfully raised the necessary funding. Excel’s design team submitted a successful planning application.
In June 2019, a brand new plastisol cabin, measuring 32′ x 10′ (9.6m x 3m), was delivered and installed. It was lifted into position using a Hiab articulated vehicle (lorry with an on board crane) and placed onto concrete pavers. The building was located adjacent to the main brick building, the new cabin will provide additional teaching space for the center.

Excel was initially approached to supply two linked jackleg cabins; however, following several design proposals, the client ultimately selected a purpose-built modular complex for their new offices in Darlington.
The client first reached out to Excel in 2024 with only minimal details confirmed. At the time, we didn’t know which artist was involved—only that it would be a short-term hire for a concert taking place in Hull.
